Our Chiropractic Techniques
At The Chiropractic Centre Wilton we use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics, joint mechanics, and improve muscle tone. Your chiropractor David Morley or Joseph Drake will select an approach based on his clinical judgement and years of experience. He will take into account your current condition, age, anxiety levels etc. Please remember we are here to help you and will choose a technique suited to you as an individual. We have range of techniques and treatments that we use and David Morley or Joseph Drake is happy to discuss the technique you prefer.
The primary adjusting techniques we use include:
Diversified
After identifying which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is applied to free up ‘Stiff’ spinal joints.
Blocking Technique
We use a special angled ‘wedge shaped' blocks so we can traction your spine, opening up the spacing between spinal vertebrae and relieving pressure to spinal joints.
Activator Methods®
This system of spinal evaluation combines a handheld adjusting instrument that delivers a consistent, low-force thrust. Favoured by our more anxious patients who don’t like the idea of the ‘popping’ or clicking sound associated with the Diversified technique.
Thompson Drop Technique
A complete system of spinal analysis using a specialised table with drop away segments.
SOT Technique
A system of analysis that uses non-force techniques.
Myofascial Dry Needling
Using traditional acupuncture needles in a western technique designed to help muscles relax.
If you’ve been to a chiropractor before and prefer to be adjusted in a particular way, let us know. We want you to relax, enjoy and fully benefit from your chiropractic care.
Think of a chiropractic adjustment as “tuning” the strings of a guitar. Delicate corrections are required to create the perfect tone.
